Curing Hypoglycemia Naturally: Low Blood Sugar Causes And Symptoms

Hypoglycemia or Low Blood Sugar is a disorder where the pancreas produce too much of insulin causing blood sugar to drop. It may lead to diabetes. After a carbohydrate rich meal the blood sugar usually drops.

Symptoms of Hypoglycemia

  • Craving for sweets and starches in excessive quantities between meals.
  • Headache, disturbed vision, nervousness, depression, fatigue, irritability, dizziness, numbness, sweating, sexual disturbances, palpitation of the heart, absent mindedness and frequent eating.
Causes of Hypoglycemia or Low Blood Sugar
  • Excessive intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates cause the liver, adrenal glands and pancreas to lose their ability to handle sugar properly.
  • Stress, tumor and disturbed functioning of the adrenal, liver or pituitary gland are other causes.

Natural Cure of Hypoglycemia or Low Blood Sugar

  • Cooked grains, seeds (pumpkin and sunflower) and nuts in raw form, vegetables and fruits.
  • Make 6 meals a day menu plan and follow it strictly.
  • Avoid excess intake of salt as it causes blood sugar to drop.
  • Avoid soft drinks, alcohol, coffee, refined and processed foods, white flour and white sugar.
  • Diet should be as follows-
    • On Rising – Fresh fruit juice or fruit like apples, avocado, berries, melons or peaches.
    • Breakfast – Buttermilk, cottage cheese, fruit, seeds and nuts.
    • Mid-morning – Tomato juice, fruit juice or fruit.
    • Lunch – Milk and cooked cereals.
    • Mid afternoon – snack consisting of nuts, fruit or vegetable juice.
    • Dinner – vegetable salad, 2 slices of whole wheat bread, buttermilk and cottage cheese.
    • On retiring – buttermilk or milk.
  • Foods rich in Vitamin-B Complex, Vitamin C and Vitamin E are highly beneficial. Patients should take 2000-5000 milligram of Vitamin C and 50 milligram of Vitamin-B6 daily.
  • Get proper rest, maintain a calm mind, relieve anxiety and nervous strain through relaxation and meditation, yoga and neutral immersion bath.
